Metro Manila (NCR) minimum Wage per Day Update



National Wages and Productivity Commission has announced the second increase in the minimum wage rate of workers for non-agriculture and agriculture (plantation and non Plantation)in Metro Manila (NCR). The non-agriculture workers with a minimum wage of P446.00 and agriculture with P409 daily minimum wage will gain another increase of P10.00 per day.

P22.00 in the P446 or P409 minimum wage per day of Metro Manila workers is known as the ‘Emergency cost of living allowance (ECOLA)’ which was approved last May 2012 by the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board in the region.

According to NWPC, the P10.00 per day will be effective this coming November 1. It is the second tranche of the approved P30.00 COLA per day increase last May 2012, the first P20.00 COLA had been effective last June 3, 2012.

Part of National Capital Region that is covered by the minimum wage increase are the cities of Caloocan, Las Pinas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela and Municipalities of Navotas and Pateros.
