An incoming typhoon with a international name ‘Bolaven‘ is about to enter Philippines Area of Responsibility (PAR) this Thursday evening, and it is expected to enhance the effect of Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat) according to the weather bulletin made by PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration).
The typhoon after entering PAR will be called ‘Julian‘. However, PAGASA said that it won’t affect the country that much cause it’s far at 1,360 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon (19.5°N 136.5°E).
Bernie de Leon, PAGASA forecaster said over dzMM, “Ang kagandahan lang ay medyo may kataasan na ito kapag pumasok at tumawid sa PAR, medyo malayo ito para direktang makaaepekto sa bansa,” and added, “Gayunpaman, inaasahan nating pagiibayuhin nito ang hanging habagat.”
Meanwhile, typhoon “IGME” on the other hand is maintaining its strength as it slowly moves westward. it is now located at 270 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes as of 4 a.m. this Thursday morning. Public Storm Signal is still up to the province of Batanes Group of Islands. So small boats and sea crafts along the area with a public signal is advice not to venture out in the sea.
