After the controversial disqualification of a transgender in Miss Universe Canada few weeks ago, Donald Trump, the man behind Miss Universe Organization now gave his decision regarding this matter.

Donald Trump decided to give transgenders the chance to walk on Miss Universe pageant starting this coming 2013. This decision of Mr. Trump made lots of people around the world talked about it.

Jenna Talackova, the transgender from man to woman is now back to the competition. Some say that this new rule of Miss Universe Org. is considered historic due to it’s sensitivity.

But according to Carousel Productions (Philippines) vice president, Miss Peachy Veneracion said, “I don’t think we’re ready for that yet, especially the Philippines.”

While Lorraine Schuck, CEO ng Carousel Productions said, “We have a lot of religions here that are really conservative. We’re talking about Muslims, Christians, Catholics. So I don’t think it will happen in the near future.”

It is not just the Carousel pageant organizers who gave their opinion on this matter, even the ladies who will compete for the title of Miss Earth Philippines this coming May.

One contestant said, “I do respect them as individuals, but I know that they have their own pageants, which they can also excel in and show their talents.”

Another said, “I would say no, only because we should set rules and regulations, and because it’s a rule in Miss Universe that you should naturally be born a woman.”

But contestant caught my attention ’cause she simply said, “I believe it should be women who are joining pageants talaga kasi we are created by God as women and men.”

Simple yet precise.
