Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) released the 10 Million worth of P1 or “piso” coin as part of the celebration of “Rizal Day” this coming December 30, 2011. The new piso coin have a new image of Dr. Jose Rizal.

The P1 have the full-face of Jose Rizal in front of the coin while on the back of it is the new logo of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

BSP officials said that the new piso coin was made in nickel plated steel which is very hard to melt down by those who wants to smuggle the coin.

Meanwhile, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will continue to release more new Piso coin next year.
