The Philippine Dragon Boat team finally meet our President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in Malacañang Palace this Friday afternoon. The team get’s presidential citation after paying a courtesy call on the President of the Philippines.

The Dragon Warriors arrived in NAIA August 12, 2011, Friday Afternoon.

The Philippine Dragon Boat Team won 5 gold and 2 silver medals, and made a several world records in the recently event of the 10th Dragon Boat World Championships in Tampa Bay, Florida, USA.

Our President said to them, “Thank you for bringing honor, being an inspiration and role models to our countrymen.”

And President Noynoy added, “I will assure you the government will be behind you. It should be a unified rather than a divisive activity.”

Meanwhile, no member of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) or the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) was invited to the said citation event.
