According to a U.S. survey announced yesterday, Harvard is yet again the top on the list of most popular and most talked about U.S. universities on the Internet. Headed the top 10 Universities in U.S.A., Harvard gain it’s former shine and popularity through web.
Harvard University have competed on the title beating up closest competitors namely Northwestern University and the University of California, Berkeley.
According to the Global Language Monitor, the one who made tracking possible by counting the usage of words and phrases on blogs, social media and the top 75,000 print and electronic media sites, Harvard regain its post through the number of mentions it receives on the Web.
Former Internet media buzz list topped by Harvard was last 2008, but after suffering an endowment crisis in the recent recession the Harvard has struggled to regain the top.
Paul Payack, the one who heads Global Language Monitor said, “We think Harvard went through a difficult period, But (President) Dean Drew Faust seems to have righted the ship. She brought some adult supervision back to it.”
Another thing that may have help Harvard University is the 2010 movie “The Social Network“, which story line is from the Facebook founder itself, Mark Zuckerburg.
Payack also said, “The Social Network” definitely had major impact, and also, the President of the United States having attended the Harvard law school definitely helps.”
