August 3 Update of “Typhoon Kabayan”



August 3, 2011, moving West Northwest direction to Japan, TyphoonKabayan” is maintaining its strength as reported by PAGASA on it’s official site.

In their synopsis that I have download minutes ago, typhoonKabayan” was located at around 1,055 KM East Northeast of Basco, Batanes around 4am in the morning, with a maximum sustained winds of 165 KPH near the center and gustiness of up to 200 KPH.

Meanwhile in their forecast section, PAGASA said that the western section of Luzon will mostly experience monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, and the rest of Luzon will be having cloudy skies with scattered rainfalls and some thunderstorms. As to Visayas and Mindanao, whole part of it will be having a partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

It was also stated in their report that moderate to strong winds will blow from southwest hat may prevail all over Luzon and from the south to southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
