Pinoy fans “support” surprised David Archuleta



David Archuleta, 20, a runner up on American Idol Season 7, is here again in the Philippines for a concert that will be held today at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The young singer have arrived at NAIA Airport yesterday afternoon, but was held up for a few minutes at Terminal 1 because of a fan who asked a post for some pictures with him.

Usually an artist may feel uncomfortable in a way, but for David, what happen on the airport is only a proof to the enthusiasm and support of his Filipino fans.

David said on his interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG!, “It’s funny. It’s usually like after when you get the luggage and stuff when the people come. I haven’t even come out (of the airport) yet… It’s something very unique to the Philippines.

He stated that it’s the Filipino fans that keep him coming back here in the Philippines. If I am not mistaken it was last 2009 that David held here in the country his first concert with “American Idolseason 7 winner, David Cook, at the SM Mall of Asia open ground. And last year, he returned to the Philippines to promote his third studio album, “The Other Side of Down.

He said, “The Pinoy fans have just been so amazing and just so supportive and they’ve always been so excited and always keep asking if I can come back. Their requests have kept me coming back. They’ve always been great and amazing and their support and energy have always just been something I’ve appreciated so much.

He added, “There’s something about the fans that’s just so different. They’re very energetic, enthusiastic. They’re very dedicated. It’s something that shocks and surprises me every time.

This is the third time that David Archuleta visited the Philippines, his concert tonight is a part of his “The Other Side of Down” Asian Tour.

After having seen at SM Megamall for a meet and greet session, the young singer will also have an Meet and Greet sessions at SM Southmall on July 19 and at SM San Lazaro on July 20.
