Starbucks will be a Smoke-Free Zone start’s on June 27, 2011

I posted here an article few weeks ago about MMDA pursuing everyone not to smoke in public. Today Starbucks joined the “No-Smoking campaign” of the MMDA or Metro Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

Starbucks known as a “Tambayan” for everyone who wants to meet with friends or and just wants to do their works not wanting to be disturbed.

The Message you may read below is a notice form one branch of Starbucks, wherein their no longer allowing people who smoke in they’re cafe’. Starting on June 27, 2011, all Starbucks stores nationwide will be smoke-free.

Starbucks is pursuing the campaign in following MMDA‘s efforts to make NCR a smoke-free region. It is stated in Section 5 of Republic Act 9211 or the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003.

For those people who smoke, sorry to tell you guys, but you may now permanently delete Starbucks on one of your “smoking tambayan”.
